In 2004, Akzo Nobel Base Chemicals launched a programme to harmonize all its chemicals plants on one MES platform - 13 plants located on 7 production sites in 4 European countries in total. The main objective was to: 

  • Harmonize all plant information,
  • Create a one-way-of-working on production accounting
  • Engage better opportunities for plant performance benchmarking

From a business point of view, this program intended to clear a path to improve quality and overall business performance.

Luca has an education in economics but has spent more than 14 years in manufacturing sector, managing offerings such as ERP, Trouble Ticketing, E-business, Innovation, Supply Chain & Traceability and of course Manufacturing Execution Systems.

He joined Atos Origin in 1999 and since then has held various positions both at local and global level, with responsibilities ranging from Programme Director for large multinational projects to Delivery Manager for ERP. Since 2006 he is the Portfolio Manager within the Global Sales & Markets organization for manufacturing and leader of the MES global network.

Based on this experience he became the Champion for Atos Agile Manufacturing in 2008.
